February Update

This month has been a busy one--January was awful! In January, mom was sick with sinus infections and the blahs after having a very busy, but wonderful holiday season with the family. Then it was back to work, cold days and not feeling well--thank goodness for warm homes and fireplaces. February came with Valentine colors and festivities. One evening we went to Kristin's house to make valentines, frost cookies, play stacking cups, and just be together. The following pictures are from this fun event. Last weekend we traveled to Moscow to visit, and were so happy to have grandpa Nelson travel with us. The weather was beautiful, even though there was no snow! Unthinkable for this time of year. I was able to get tons of school work done in the car while traveling, and grandpa stayed awake the whole time keeping Dad Empey awake and on track-learning how all the rivers of northern Idaho were connected. We miss everyone tons and hope everyone is doing well. Love you all.

Does grandpa ever smile ? Doesn't matter--the important thing is that he is here with us.

Jake has learned to say "grandpa" Look at Dad's smile!

Dave will you be my Valentine? Tender!

Snow Day in Utah

We had a surprise adventure when we visited Mike and family in Utah this week. We were able to stay at the cabin of his friend for a day and a night in the Heber valley mountains. We woke to snow-yeah! and hoped we could be snowed in--we almost were! A fun day of sledding, wetting our pants-smile- and eating hot soups and cocoa. A good time had by all-the only problem was we had to come back to reality of work, school, and responsibility. Jake slept through the whole sledding experience--next year for him. Hope you all were able to access this blog--Kari is helping me to get up and running again with my blog.

September update!

It is time to update our lives since the reunion. As you can see, Dad is fly-fishing on the Buffalo as much as possible.

I am back to school. Here are 3 of my little Native American 2nd graders.

Cecelia Bronco

Stacy Ponzo

Young Chief Washakie

This is Dad catching the first fish for the first time while Gary continues to wait for a bite (which is a first for them-because Gary always catches the 1st fish.)

Empey family in the Wild, Wild West! James and the girls are our protectors!

Here is Mike enjoying the reunion. Jakey is wishing Uncle Mike would wake up and play.

Other than that, all is well. Looking forward to Grandpa's 98th birthday on October 4th. He fell this week, but after a couple days, was up mowing and weed-wacking his lawn and cleaning his pellet stove. Oh, yes, did I forget to mention, riding on his exercise bike too. We all have great genes thanks to him.

I have joined! Empey Times 1st Issue!

Don't our little pirates look cute? Thanks to Kari we are online. I hope that I will be able to figure this out by myself when I don't have my wonderful, daughter around to do all of my dirty newfangled contraption work. More to come later-maybe. Love Grandma
